Nursing Scholarship Awards Guidelines

Purpose:

To establish guidelines when screening applicants for the Nursing Scholarship Award. The purpose of this award is to encourage and provide support to members to obtain a Master's Degree in Nursing, Post Master's Program or Doctoral Program.

 

Overview:

The Philippine Nurses Association of America, Inc. is offering a scholarship award to a deserving graduate student who is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Nursing, a Post Master's program or Doctoral Program. The award provides for $1000.00 for one academic year to the recipient.

 

Procedure:

The PNAA Nursing Scholarship Award shall be presented to the recipient during the PNAA National Convention Awards Night.

 

  1. The eligibility criteria and requirements include:

    • Current enrollment and/or admission to an accredited Master's or Doctoral Program

    • Current membership in the Philippine Nurses Association of America, Inc.

    • For continuing students, GPA of 3.0 or better

    • Brief essay (150 words) describing professional career goals. How this scholarship will assist attain your goals?

      • Completed application and submission of the following documents:

      • Letter of Acceptance to an accredited program.

      • Academic transcript of records.

      • Two letters of recommendation: one from an employer or peer and one from a faculty or supervisor.

      • Resume
         

  2. Completed application (Form 1) must be typed and submitted to the Nursing Scholarship Committee Chairperson no later than 8 weeks prior to the National Convention.

  3. The Nursing Scholarship Committee shall submit its decision and recommendations to the Executive Board for approval 6 weeks prior to the National Convention.

  4. The Nursing Scholarship Committee chairperson shall notify the awardee of the decision of the Executive Board in writing and or via best available technology four weeks prior to the National Convention
